Mental Health Awareness Month

Mental health is often challenging to talk about and tricky to identify in others because you can’t see it in the same way you can physical health. However, it is just as important. Understanding the warning signs can help you identify when your child, family member, or friend is struggling with their mental health. Here are some signs to be on the lookout for:

  • Excessive worrying or fear

  • Feeling excessively sad or low

  • Extreme mood changes

  • Avoiding friends or activities they once loved

  • Changes in sleep or eating habits

  • Having thoughts or making comments about hurting themselves

Struggling with mental health is not a sign of weakness nor indicative of flaws within yourself or your child. Here are some tips to start the conversation
