Rapoport Academy has purchased land adjacent to our Elm campus to build an athletic facility for our district. This new gym (the first to be owned by the district in our 25-year history) will provide competition space for both basketball and volleyball with stands for home and visitors seating up to 480 people!
The facility will feature:
“We’ve needed a home for our athletics programs for years and finally have a solution that is going to be ours. We are ready to move forward with hiring a construction manager and getting a timeline in place to make this happen. I am beyond excited about this!” said Dr. Alexis Neumann, Rapoport Academy Superintendent.
In addition to using the facility for sports, Neumann said it will be a gathering space for multiple district and community events including dances, graduation, and staff/teacher development.
“Rapoport spaces are community spaces, so we hope to be able to have sports tournaments or community events there as well,” she said.
Requests for Proposals for a Construction Manager for this project will be posted soon and we will post updates on the timeline for the facility as we get them.
