Texas Representative Charles "Doc" Anderson spoke to two classes of Meyer High School students about his career in state government, the future of Texas industry and the importance of involvement in the political process.
Students had the chance to ask questions about his political journey and what day-to-day life looks like for an elected official.
In recognition of Rep. Anderson's support for public education and his dedicated advocacy for charter schools in Texas, Superintendent Alexis Neumann expressed gratitude by presenting him with a Charter Champion award from the Texas Charter School Association.
"We are delighted to present this award to Doc Anderson for the way he has supported Rapoport Academy and charters as a whole," Neumann said. "I am profoundly grateful for the positive impact he has made on our school during his remarkable 20-year tenure as our state representative."
During the event, Rep. Anderson commended the school and encouraged students, expressing that they were "blessed" to attend a school like Rapoport Academy.
“This is a great school and it will provide you wonderful opportunities for your future,” Anderson said.
