Super Centex Cross Country Athlete of the Year

The Waco Tribune-Herald recently named Rapoport Academy's Marco Cunningham as the Super Centex Cross Country Athlete of the Year!

From the Trib: Call him Marco Polo, because you’re going to have to shout to catch him. Cunningham advanced to the UIL State Cross Country Championships for a third straight year as a junior in 2023-24, and made the most of his appearance. He charged to a silver medal in the Class 2A boys’ race, completing the 5,000-meter course in 15:49.0.

Cunningham beat everyone to the line except for Wolfe City’s Caden Thurman, who clocked 15:27.90. The cool thing that made this year different for Cunningham was the fact that he got to take his teammates with him to Round Rock.

The Ravens finished third as a team at the Region III-2A meet, becoming the school’s first athletic team to reach state in any sport.
