Dear Raven Community,
I hope this message finds each of you rested, healthy, and ready to get back to school! I know we are all excited to see you and your children in our halls once again.
I wanted to address some concerns that we have all shared these last few months as we have seen the pandemic continue to impact our families and the continued presence of threats to the safety of our students, staff, and families.
COVID: Masks are not required. But, you and/or your child are welcome to wear one at your discretion. We will be following the CDC guidelines for quarantine that can be found using this simple calculator found here.
School Safety: Our team has been working these last few months to participate in multiple training events for everything from securing our buildings to ensuring our documentation and planning are up-to-date and following best practices. There are new regulations and requirements being passed through the Governor's office and other regulating agencies frequently. While the process of ensuring a safe school community is ongoing, I wanted to let you know about some of the efforts underway. Our leaders have participated in active shooter training, building walkthroughs, emergency drill practices, mental health responses, and relationship-based practices. Here at Rapoport, we know that safety is not only about having locked doors and supervising our spaces but truly knowing our community and both recognizing and responding to individuals in physical/emotional/mental need.
This year, you will see more supervision during carpool drop-off and pick-up. Please take care to follow the directions provided by your child's campus. All campus buildings will have a single point of entry and will be locked at all times. Please use the main door to the building you are trying to enter and be prepared to identify yourself and your reason for the visit prior to entering the building. Any visitor will need to check in at the front desk and receive a sticker that authorizes them to be in the building.
We are working as a team across campuses, the district, and the community to review our safety practices, emergency response protocols, community partners, and overall ability to prevent and respond to a crisis.
The health and safety of our entire community is a primary focus of the leadership here at Rapoport. Thank you for your patience as we adjust and change towards what needs to be done.
